ITV Highlight energy cost problem at BIR

Ryan Dollard from Border TV visited Border Ice Rink to hear how energy costs are a big concern for the future of our rink. Keeping the ice pad is now costing in the region of £400 per day, a cost which if passed on to our curling and skating clientele would have a crippling effect on numbers coming through the door which would threaten the future of the rink in the future.

Skating is growing in popularity with the younger generation and it would be a shame if these youngsters were deprived of the sport due to the high energy costs when the energy companies are making such huge profits.
